Mía Display

Marissa Balbuena | Junior

Mía Display challenges the notion of what it means to make "good design" while dismantling gender binary of feminine versus masculine. Gender-neutral display typeface comes in two weights with matching rotalics and supports Latin. Contains 225 glyphs including alternates. The name Mía translates to “mine” in Spanish and is also my sister’s name. Reclaiming exaggerated curvilinear and voluptuous features to be loud and unapologetic due to the underrepresentation women face in the type design domain.
